I’m a former division, one college tennis player and briefly played professionally. The workshops were wonderful. But I keep hearing from every Pro I’ve ever talked to that it is essentially a scam for coaches that have experience. It’s wonderful for beginner coaches and I love the fact that they do the background check. But They do not respect your time it takes weeks to months to get feedback on videos to get results from your certificate. Which is incredibly rude and just disrespectful for my time. I didn’t appreciate that at all. They are very kind and nice and understanding and just walk you through it if you don’t know how to coach. Which is great. They only want you to teach their way and for coaches they need to adapt to coach their clients because no Client is the same. But I hear from every pro that I talk to you with experience that it’s a complete scam For coaches who have played Division I college tennis and higher level.

I got my professional certificate a couple years ago and has been USPTA member since 2019. The certification process was pretty good and I personally think getting the certification was a good challenge for me. However, I just had very poor experience with their insurance department, Susan Ruchti specifically and I couldn't even unable to take to her director after leaving messages. Basically when I renewed my certificate/membership for 2023, I added my assistant in my insurance. But, I didn't know if I was signing up for 2022 instead of 2023, paying the full annual price when I purchased the policy in Nov. I realized that mistake and tried to make a correction after several days of purchase. But, she stated that will be no change of policy year and no refund because I didn't read the policy carefully. I think that is very poor customer service and seeing their customer as a source of money instead of a partner who loves tennis. I thought USPTA was on my side, loving tennis but my perception of USPTA has changed 180 deg after interaction with her. I am not sure I would ever buy any product from USPTA who wants my money and take an advantage on my small mistakes.
